Series on Paper

During the first six months of 2020, events took place that would alter people’s lives across the world. Many movements and changes reached a kind of culmination that had long been anticipated. For a younger generation that had lived in relative calm and enjoyed the privilege of studying and choosing their own path, it became a period filled with doubt, uncertainty, and boredom. Even for generations that had already experienced more turbulent times, it was difficult to fall asleep without thinking of the consequences still to come.

Despite the reach of technology, the constant flow of information, and the abundance of material goods available to buy, a period of confinement was enough to trigger a catalyst — an endless chain of reactions of every kind.

In response to this atmosphere, Andrea Honsberg created a series of works on paper that reflects on these experiences. The drawings capture both the restlessness and introspection of that time, translating collective unease into intimate visual fragments that speak of isolation, observation, and resilience.
